A series of events were held on the recognition of 2021 as the Year of Yunus Emre and Turkish with the Presidential circular. One of the events was a series of concerts held in Ardahan, Kars, Ağrı, Van, Bitlis and Muş with the title “Following Yunus”.
Yunus Emre’s poems, which are a great legacy for Turkish Sufi literature, were composed by the santurist Sedat Anar and brought to the audience. Sedat Anar was accompanied by erbane performer Selahattin Anar. The last stop of the concert series that started in Ardahan on October 23 was Muş. The concert was held at Mus Alparslan University 1071 Malazgirt Congress and Culture Center. In the concert, hosted by our university, the santur performer Sedat Anar, who has very few performers in Turkish music, and Selahattin Anar who accompanied him with erbane, almost wiped the ears of the listeners. The concert, which was organized with the aim of keeping Yunus Emre’s cultural heritage and spirit alive, attracted a lot of attention. Our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yaşar Karadağ, Dean of the Faculty of Communication Tamella Aliyeva, Provincial Culture Director Mehmet Şengül, Assistant Secretary General Ferit Uslu, our students, staff and the audience consisting of the people of Muş left the concert extremely happy.
